Lighting design for NAB Place Melbourne focuses on the balance of natural light and the delivery of high-quality illumination where needed. As this is primarily a workplace environment, the use of high-quality low-glare illumination was important. All fixtures excluding the surface-mounted spotlights in the customer lounge are 3000K in colour temperature and have a Colour Rendering Index (CRI) of >90. 

Linear lighting was utilised throughout the workplace to provide diffused uniform illumination. Custom aluminium extrusions were concealed into coves, handrails and ceiling details, blending in with the surrounding architecture to create a seamless appearance. As part of a unique and totally customised solution, lengths of profile were suspended upside-down above large spaces, uplighting the ceilings with even illumination.

A combination of downlights and track lighting were selected for general and task lighting while specialised high-powered track and surface-mounted spotlights fitted with anti-glare screens were utilised to illuminate the customer lounge.
