The Tbilisi Public Service Hall by Italian architects Massimiliano and Doriana Fuksas is situated in the centre of Tbilisi, Georgia, overlooking the Kura river.
The Lux series of high performance LED projectors from Martini was used to illuminate 11 ‘petals’ which form the roof structure, yet are structurally independent from the rest of the building.
Made up of 7 volumes containing offices, with each volume consisting of 4 floors located on different levels, the hall covers 28 000 sqm. These volumes are placed around a ”central public square,” which is the core of the project and where the front office services are located for the National Bank of Georgia, the Minister of Energy, and the Civil and National Registry.
Three of the eleven ‘petals’ cover the central space. The petals, varying in their geometry and dimension, reach almost 35 metres and are supported by a structure of tree shaped steel pillars visible, in addition to the petals, externally and internally from the building.
