Design: Piccolo Architecture / Photography: Nicole England // Due to the absence of natural light within the store, lighting design was a key consideration for the LaManna & Sons grocery. Fixtures with a high colour rendering index (CRI) were selected to deliver high-quality illumination in order to enhance and accurately replicate the vibrant colours of the produce on display. For the most part, the ceiling is exposed. The lighting solution provides suspended fixtures that do not interfere with the ceiling's structure. Selected for its adjustable and flexible plug-and-play characteristics, track lighting was utilised to provide both targeted and general illumination. A combination of trackspots with a range of outputs and beam angles highlight the grocery displays, signage and black and white photographs located along the walls of the store. The track lighting is finished in black, allowing the fixtures to blend in with the black ceiling. Large circular pendants illuminate the interior with high output illumination. Their bright white finish and fun circular design mimic the curves of the central displays to create an interesting and playful feature within the store. // Products Featured: Klus PDS4 Profile
