MARCH HOUSE

SOURCE ARCHITECTS

Design: Source Architects / Photography: Tom Ferguson / Located on a sought-after street in Orange New South Wales, March House is a contemporary re-work of a classic Federation style home. Briefed by the client to create a light, modern home for a growing family, Source Architects added a new extension to the rear of the property, providing an intimate connection with the backyard. A new kitchen, dining and living space, as well as an internal courtyard visually linking the existing residence to the extension, are all contained within the new contemporary space. To ensure continuity, the existing residence was also updated with new joinery and decor. Tuba II trackspots were used throughout March House to illuminate the living room and to provide task lighting over the kitchen bench. The clever selection of a black finish for both the track and fixtures ensures that the lighting complements the contemporary design of the extension, tying in with the black accents and details featured throughout the space.
