The building, erected in 1879 by the Education Department designed by H.K Bastow, had been modified several times from its original form and had deteriorated significantly over time. In addition, the existing services and internal layout of spaces were no longer suitable for use as learning spaces. Working within a tight budget, the considered refurbishment of Block A will address the major maintenance and infrastructure items requiring rectification, as well as catering for a variety of activities and support 21st century teaching methods.” – Kneeler Design Architects - http://www.kneelerdesign.com.au/
