ELK LITTLE COLLINS STREET

FIONA LYNCH

Design Practice: Fiona Lynch // Photographer: Shannon McGrath // Project Overview: Celebrating ten years marked a time for Elk to open their first flagship store in Little Collins Street Melbourne. A conceptual approach with anodised aluminium framework that wraps up the wall and across the ceiling down into a hanging rail for clothing display. This approach gave clarity to the store allowing us to apply tactile finishes such as grey polished plaster to the walls and chocolate brown floorboards that have a rough textured finish. The central display units are made from corian and dark stained oak timber whilst the back wall is wrapped in a tan leather with open seams. Supporting local designers was key in this project with Daniel Barbera custom brass stands and Henry Wilson Surface Sconce wall light.
